Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, often referred to professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The label debuted her first EP, Pho, in October 2016, and she was able getting noticed. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014 she continued to share her music over the internet including her independently released single Bound. The song Sweat it included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it with Rihanna. On December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is a song that she recorded with Cozz to record the collaboration album Revenge of the Dreamers II. She released Pho, her debut EP, on October 21, 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening performance. The singer also performed on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. A music video was followed by a music video in September. Then, on the 9th November the singer released two more singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Two more singles were released by her on 11/13 Pedigree and No One. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16, and then released the song as a solo single on her debut album. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order in conjunction with the song. Within the first time, it was viewed more than 3,000,000 views. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
