Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known as the character the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered an Emmy Award. In addition, she was a part of series like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney has a father who was an executive at the United Auto Workers who was also a mother. Delaney has four older brothers. She envisioned becoming a court reporter in her early years, but began modeling in high school and eventually gaining commercials after moving from New York. Delaney was portrayed as an innocent child in the 1981 soap-opera All My Children. Since then, Delaney has been featured in many films television movies and dramas. The way she lives her life, unlike her professional life hasn't been a success and has not been happy. There were two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with alcoholism. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her only son.
